Everything you need to know about setting up and dominating your interviews with NeedXit.

Installation

NeedXit is a native Windows application. To install it, download the latest .exe from the Download page. Run the installer and follow the prompts. The application requires Windows 10 (20H2 or later) or Windows 11.

Google Login & Device Auth

When you first launch the desktop app, you will be prompted to login. Clicking the login button opens this web dashboard. Once you authenticate via Google, a secure token is passed back to your desktop app to link the device. You can manage linked devices from your Dashboard Settings.

Offline Speech Recognition

NeedXit runs speech recognition models locally on your GPU or CPU. This ensures zero-latency transcription and guarantees that your interview audio never leaves your machine. We specifically fine-tune these models to accurately transcribe strong regional accents, such as Indian English accents.

Resume & Job Description Context

To get the most accurate AI responses, upload your resume (PDF) and the specific Job Description (Text) in the desktop app's Settings panel. The AI (GPT-4o-mini) will automatically inject this context into its prompts, meaning when an interviewer asks "Tell me about a time you faced a difficult bug", the AI will reference a real project from your resume.
